Jim Hale, Principal
Jim is a seasoned deal maker, having structured, negotiated and closed hundreds of transactions. With 25 years experience as a medical group leader and a finance and M&A attorney, Jim is uniquely equipped to identify opportunities and mitigate risk in your practice to ensure you maximize the value and reduce transaction complications.
Jim leads a multi-site provider-based healthcare enterprise including clinical services, ambulatory surgery center, dialysis, joint ventures and healthcare real estate. He has modernized and right-sized the companies’ operations, launched ancillary services, designed rational value based care models, developed strategic partnerships, and cultivated a culture of compliance. The restructuring resulted in doubling profitability and debt curtailment of 75%. Jim serves on the boards of healthcare joint ventures and on the board of an oral healthcare insurance company where he chairs its committee on corporate governance.
As an attorney he represented clients in buying and selling cardiology, nephrology, surgery, and primary care medical practices. He also led transactions involving imaging companies, surgery centers, healthcare products international financing, joint-venture formation and administration, electronic health records licensing, the development of long term care facilities, and venture capital, private equity and debt financing. He was awarded Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating and also recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Virginia Business.
